So, @TheTickTV is worth watching #AmazonPrimeVideo

This @ben_edlund ‏ Amazon Prime original series, starring @GriffLightning ‏, is chock full of laugh out loud moments. The Tick tire toss into the antagonist, Ramsey, the leader of a criminal underground band terrorizing the city, was so good we had to stop the show and record it. A sampling of our fellow citizens reviews:

In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with mental health issues and zero powers comes to suspect his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover the conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero. They launch into an adventure brimming with crazed archvillains, blood-soaked vigilantes, and superhuman freakery.

Season 1 of The Tick is broken into two mini seasons. The second part of season one will be aired sometime in early 2018.

The New @Netflix Show @Atypical is Antartica Cool

After scrounging around all summer looking for a new original series to fall in love with it turned out to be Atypcial.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition which affects the brain’s growth and development. It is a lifelong condition, with symptoms that appear in early childhood. Adults on the autism spectrum may struggle with social situations and ‘small talk’, thus appear rude or say things that others would not say. The term “spectrum” reflects the wide variation in challenges and strengths possessed by each person with autism.

Netflix brings us the story of Sam, a a high functioning 18-year old high school student in the spectrum. In season 1, Sam encounters the same challenges facing any adolescent navigating high school. He learns about what it feels like to fall in love and have your heart broken, and what it feels like to break a heart. But Sam learns his lessons through the prism of autism. It’s a tear-jerker at times. But Sam has a fantastic mom, dad, and sister, and super-cool friends. The show cracks you up between the eye-watering scenes. Along the way, we all learn about penguins and interesting factual information about Antarctica.

I rate this show 5 Stars. Absolutely fabulous.

A $10 Zin At Costco–2014 Sonoma County Old Vine Zin

I’ve been testing the Costco Kirkland wines. Doing my research for you to find good bargains. BOOM! Here’s the Sonoma County Old Vine Zinfandel.

Kirkland Signature Old Vine Zinfandel is produced from the low-yielding vines that average 45 years of age. This classic Old Vine Zinfandel has opaque shades of deep red-purple fruit with a bouquet and palate structure of blackberry, cassis, blueberry and chocolate, which is supported by vanilla and spice notes from oak maturation and lifted by bright acidity and supple, ripe tannins.

This is a good steady choice.

My Favorite Podcasts

In no particular order:

The Tim Ferris Show

#1 business podcast on all of iTunes. Tim deconstructs world-class performers from eclectic areas (investing, sports, business, art, etc.) to extract the tactics, tools, and routines you can use.  This includes favorite books, morning routines, exercise habits, time-management tricks, and much more. One of the best interviewers out there.

Locked on the Gamecocks Podcast

Brought to you by JC Shurburtt and Keith Allsep. These guys get down into the weeds on football and men’s and women’s basketball games, recruiting, and depth.

Gamecock Central Radio

A really good podcast. Maybe not quite as much into the weeds as the one above, but you get great interviews about Gamecock baseball on this one. They also do a spectacular breakdown of football games.

Neil Corcoran (Tantric Dex)

A selection of various mixes in various styles. Updated Weekly “A DJ that displays a wealth of talent & versatility” Muzik Magazine (UK) “Serves up some seriously funky sounds” (Mark McAvoy, “Irelands funkiest export”

Deep Energy 2.0–Music for Sleep, Meditation, Relaxation, Massage, and Yoga

Super relaxing. I wouldn’t recommend this on your commute though.

The Tom Woods Show

Serving up a helping of rebelliousness against the State. Tom also is a master of Internet marketing and has frequent tips and advice on this score.

Diplomacy Cast

Eric Meade and Nathan Barnes produce this show. It’s not a sophisticated production, and they revel in it. You would have to be a huge board-gaming nerd to even begin to like this podcast. But if you’re a Diplomacy player, it’s a blend of hilarity and advice on becoming a better FTF player.

Scott Horton Show Interviews

Don’t listen to this unless you want to take the red pill. Anti-war and anti-State.

Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History

Dan says he isn’t a historian. I don’t know about that but he is a damned good story-teller. Most stories about warfare from the cold war to the Genghis Kahn.

Bosch Season 3 — @BoschAmazon — is Worth Watching

Season 3 starts off a bit slow. But the drama continues to build and build until the tenth episode climax.

Los Angeles murder detective Harry Bosch, played by @welliver_titus, faces scrutiny over an aggressive police investigation style. Bosch is relentless when a murderer is in his sights. Sometimes Bosch even pushes boundaries of the LAPD policies to gather evidence.

Bosch grew up as an orphan and knows the hard knocks associated with surviving in LA orphanages. In this season, he befriends a troubled 13 year old boy who witnessed a murder. Turns out the boy didn’t see much, but a security firm, staffed with former Iraq special forces operatives, don’t know that. The poor kid pays the price.

Bosch follows obscure clues and tracks down the killers. If you like police murder mystery shows, Season 3 is can’t miss TV.
